tips to get more blog traffic

Hey, everyone! Thank you so much for having me as a guest poster today.

My name is Alex Berger and I am a full-time travel and lifestyle blogger.

Over the past seven years of blogging, I have definitely learned some tips and tricks along the way and I wanted to share them with you! Let’s jump right into the facts —

So, you want to start a blog, or you want to grow your current blog? You’ve come to the right place!

If you do it correctly, a blog can become an insanely successful business, but it takes quite a bit of time and hard work.

Here are a few easy tips to grow your blog or website:

#1 Understand Your Target Audience

Not everyone will be interested in reading what you are writing about – that is unfortunately just how it goes.

Knowing who will be interested in and want to read your content is so important in growing your blog.

Develop a clear idea of the types of topics that your blog will feature, and think about the type of people who would be interested in seeing that content. For example, if your blog is about motherhood, you can assume that the typical person reading your blog would likely be women with children.

Thus, your posts can cater to the things that women with children would be interested in.

Catering content toward these people and using advertising and marketing that will catch their attention will ultimately lead to more interest in and sharing of your blog, growing your following.

#2 Have A Great Design

A beautiful website, or a great design is essential.

Having a website should be an asset, not an expense, according to New Jersey SEO. If you have a poor design, you will lose out on followers and potential customers, which is not the intention of having a website at all.

There are so many websites that are cookie cutter and you, as a blogger, or a business, need to stand out, in order to reach your target audience, as we discussed above. Because you want to stand out, you want to hire a professional to build your website for you.

This is where NJ SEO comes into play. They are a full-service digital marketing agency local to NJ. They offer free consultations, open communication (email, phone, text, etc.), no long-term contracts, and straight-forward service.

NJ SEO takes pride in their deep industry knowledge and experience in providing today’s leading digital and creative solutions. They say, “We’ve developed an approach to shaping digital strategies for our clients that result in defining prioritized, cost-effective solutions that deliver a measurable Return on Investment (ROI).”

The main reason that NJ SEO offers such effective services is because of the people behind the company. For example, Matt Anton has been an SEO expert since 2006. The field encompasses 3 major phases: User Experience, Technical and Promotional. The lines have blurred over the years and Matt enjoys helping companies formulate pragmatic strategies with real world results.

I’ve seen just a fraction of the power of SEO when I took Mike Pearson’s SEO course. I started ranking on page 1 of Google for several keywords and making more affiliate sales.

#3 Utilize Social Media

It is rare to find someone who does not utilize social media these days.

It seems like even older adults, who did not grow up in the age of personal computer use, use sites such as Facebook. This is great for bloggers and businesses alike, as it allows you to reach a very large audience very easily.

Creating accounts on social media websites like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter lets you not only spread advertisements, but it also helps you to connect with potential customers or viewers of your content.

Connecting with others is important to build trust and loyalty in your brand or blog, and also to help spread the word to reach others!

#4 Search Engine Optimization

To start, let me explain what SEO is.

SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” According to
Moz, “SEO is a marketing discipline focused on growing visibility in organic (non-paid) search engine results.”

On a basic level, when you improve your SEO on your website, your website becomes more visible on search engines, like Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. This is very important because most of the time, people do not scroll through ten pages on Google – they go with articles that are in the first couple of pages.

Your goal is to compete to be on page #1 of the search engines, and this leads to an increase in page views and readers, which then leads to profits.

SEO is another service that NJ SEO offers and since SEO is constantly changing, I can promise you that you will want to utilize their services so that you are helping your website, instead of accidentally hurting it.

#5 Make Your Content Easy To Share

The best way to reach new readers is by word of mouth.

Allowing other readers to share your content if they like it will spread the word of your blog to others.

Additionally, people tend to be more willing to read posts if they are shared by friends or family whom they know and trust.

Make sure that your content is easily shareable, and encourage your readers to pass along any posts they enjoy!

Although these are just a few tips to help grow your blog, there are so many other things that you can do to come up with great content, share it with your followers, and keep growing every single day.

I hope some of these tips helped, but please let me know if you have any questions at all!
